Review of 'The Rowan (Rowan' on 'Goodreads'

his book reminded me strongly of The Crystal Singer. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought the Rowan was an interesting character. I think these would be enjoyed by teens. They are not as fleshed out as many of the books I read now. It is not a very long book, so I don't know why I was reluctant to start, maybe because I prefer to read all the books in a series in as close to one shot as possible.
I was a little disappointed in what happened to the Barquecat. From the cover, I thought this was a permanent installation on her life. I also wondered if Purza and Bagheera would have been found to actually have been energy-type beings that accompany children primes in order to steady them. Maybe something like this occurs in later books. Or maybe this is me running more plot-lines in someone else's story.
