Review of 'A Philosophy Of Walking' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
This one is a quick read. It's pretty basic as far as the philosophy is concerned I'd say as a lay person. Mostly it's different short biographic sketches of philosophers and their connection to the fine art of walking. Which is fine I guess, but it all reminds very much of Wanderlust by Rebecca Solnit, who basically did the same a couple of years earlier.
Though I have to admit that I found it a bit hard to follow Wanderlust when I read it, so in terms of accessibility A Philosophy of Walking wins out as far as I can tell. But then: Wanderlust is much more in depth. In the end I guess I wish I would have loved a book that's somewhere in the middle of the road.
So, if you haven't read anything else about Walking & Philosophy, this might be a cool book to get you kickstarted. Otherwise you might wanna skip.
