I grabbed this off the shelf in the library while I was looking for books for an unrelated paper. I am a musician and not a physicist, and this book did a great job of explaining the mathematical and physical properties of music and sound in an easy to understand way. I recommend this to those who want to learn more about the way music breaks down to the numbers.

While I found the ending a little lackluster, this book was incredible in its balance of scientific language and philosophical concepts. Reading this book as a global pandemic winds down was a little uncanny. If you like sci-fi and body horror, you'll like this book.

I am not the biggest reader of fiction, but this book had me fully engaged. It's the first book that's made me feel emotionally attached to characters in a long time. I picked this book up off of my sisters' bookshelf, and it's inspired me to read more of Le Guin's work.

I read this book because I saw a news article saying it was thought provoking about modern technology, but it largely came off like a modern Black Mirror episode with a very basic "technology bad" theme. Also there is a incidence of sexual assault which stood out compared to the other events discussed in the book. I see how that could potentially upsetting.
