The ancient Thallonian Empire has collapsed, throwing an entire sector of the galaxy into chaos …

Star Trek: New Frontier 1-4

This book (which I read as the singular 4 books) is very easy and quick to read. All the books are unambiguously part of the first story. Much time is spent on introducing the characters which for the most part are interesting. Of course there are some famous favourite characters to introduce this 'new' series. The ending really sold me. Without spoiling the content I can confidently tell you that it's silly Sci-Fi bullshit of the highest caliber (a very good thing).

Here are some things I didn't like: -Personally I don't need that much sex in my stories. -M'k'n'zy is very unsympathetic to me and the first book, which is all about him, made me reconsider reading it a bit but i pushed through. He stays unlikable (to me) throughout the 4 parts but experiences first signs of character growth at the end, to introduce his main Thing basically.
