I think this might be my favourite book of the series. It's all about that diplomacy which makes it feel like it's all about finding out how does it turn out and why - does humanity survive in the end or not, does the Colonial Union survive? We still don't know for sure but we are definitely coming closer.

I didn't like the part about the dog. I think because it was the only time things happened because accident, not because the choices of our heroes.
