Deeply wholesome story of a closeted trans girl who longs to play Charlotte in the school's production of Charlotte's Web. I found Melissa incredibly endearing and her story profoundly moving. Doesn't hurt that I'm a theatre kid at heart, and I love that acting is how Melissa is able to express her true self. Melissa's voice is authentic and the prose rings with truth. Definitely recommend the audiobook, as it's beautifully done. I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while.
