I had trouble getting warmed up with this one, but at a certain point I found myself fully immersed again, just as in his first of My Struggle. Some of this difficulty may have been due to translation -- the parts about late teen struggles with romance and the dialogue felt jilted and overly dramatic -- but by the time I got to his wife's first birth, I was deeply hooked, and it stays strong from there. There a moments of sublimity, where it becomes clear that he is writing about writing this book.
