marksutherland reviewed Mister Miracle by Tom King
Review of 'Mister Miracle' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
Superheroic daddy issues: having them, losing them, becoming them etc. King is continuing to establish himself as one of comics great writers, and the 9 panel format is very reminiscent of Moore. The art is vibrant but scrapily realistic. There's a distinct riff on classic and biblical stories combined with a mundane reflection on being a mature adult. Sometimes the contrast between his home life and epic day job is a bit too discongruous, but then I'm all too familiar with the struggles of having young children who WILL NOT STAY ASLEEP. ahem.
