Ahhh, devoured it! Such a nice book to read. An intriguing story with weird turns (two 21 year olds vacationing in south France with people 10 years their senior??) and quite interesting (progressive, left, right up my alley) political conversations.

Sally Rooney once again presents a main character that - like Marianne in Normal People - is highly intellectual and lacks a sense of self-worth. What both books also have in common is that you, as a reader, observe the trainwreck from the outside and can't look away. Sally Rooney is very good at portraying how we create different realities in our heads based on our preconceptions of the other/ourselves/the world. And in this case, you see Frances interpreting it all WRONG and suffering because of it because she has ISSUES and you CANT stop her from herself.

Tbh it was a bit scary how much I could relate to her sometimes, but then again I myself am creating my own reality based on my very biased conception of myself. So modulate your reality hunny!
