epic speculative history and evolution of mankind

After reading C. M. Kosemens "All tomorrows" I stumbled upon this earlier work of the genre of epic future fiction:
If you are interested in a speculative future history of mankind over a really huge period of time rather than concrete history and matters of individual protagonists, Olaf Stapledons "Last and first men" will not disappoint you. It kind of reminded me of later works by Asimovs Foundation cycle with several more orders of magnitude on the epicness-scale. It is not a book to read for the actual plot but for the ideas the author outlines. I agree with the general reputation of being a classic piece of earlier science fiction, speculative history, speculative evolution and worldbuilding.
Since I'm not a native speaker of English, it was a bit difficult to read at times.
