Definitely recommend listening to the Warren Mitchell, Michael Maloney, and Sarah Woodward + full cast audiobook recording if you can get your hands on a copy- it's got music from Henry Purcell's "Fairy Queen" between each act!

Grady Hendrix: The Southern Book Clubs Guide to Slaying Vampires (AudiobookFormat, 2020, Blackstone Publishing)

huge huge tw/cw: rape/ sexual assault, child abuse, gaslighting, domestic abuse, animal death, Nazism, dementia, and probably a few others I'm forgetting because geez this book nearly had it all.

Couldn't put this book down, for better or for worse. The pacing of the story was excellent and had me on my toes, but it's 2021 and (even for a book set in the 90s), I want better portrayals of the friendships between women please.

Ok it's been... 4 days since I started listening to this series and I'm already done with Season 1. I love a good, serialized podcast drama (Tanis, The Black Tapes, Alice Isn't Dead, and Limetown are some of my all-time favorite podcasts). This takes what I love about those series and elevates it to an entirely different level. I'm so excited to see where this story goes, wish me luck catching up before the final season debut! (I think I can do it, if I drink enough coffee).
