Review of 'Contemporary Photography from India and South America' on 'Goodreads'
2 stars
The book concept is so stretched that it’s almost fantastic. Unfortunately the title/concept doesn’t keep up with the promises, furthermore it’s misleading. More than half of the artists listed are not photographers, but use photography to represent their art, installations, etc. Some of them are represented with numerous photos, others with just one, two. Some pictures spread on the entire page others are too small to be really appreciated.
The entire book seems like a cut and paste of some previous catalogues or memories in curators mind, more like a huge left overs soup.
Too bad, some photographs are definitely worth watching.
