An ocean of facts and a new concept of evolution and genetic transmission. Well, at least new to me.

It's a photo album, a people's photographic representation of self.
I praise the idea, but the result, ça va sans dire, it's beyond Fiona Tan's photographic art. In fact she's an artist, not a photographer.
Some photos are touching, others are plain documental. Editing could have been better ... but that depends on the contributed material, doesn't it?!

Great photographs have necessarily no need for blue skies or bright colors.
This book is soothing, it's essential. It's the spirit of water and forest.

Summer and friends, memories and grass scented breeze, wet earth. I can smell them all browsing Vale. And the light of the English countryside, warm, present and reassuring.

Simple and plain contemporary wisdom with a spray of cynicism. Obviously, one has to be a free thinking spirit in order to get it.

The book concept is so stretched that it’s almost fantastic. Unfortunately the title/concept doesn’t keep up with the promises, furthermore it’s misleading. More than half of the artists listed are not photographers, but use photography to represent their art, installations, etc. Some of them are represented with numerous photos, others with just one, two. Some pictures spread on the entire page others are too small to be really appreciated.
The entire book seems like a cut and paste of some previous catalogues or memories in curators mind, more like a huge left overs soup.
Too bad, some photographs are definitely worth watching.

I truly enjoyed the book, but even more than that, I had fun. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not talking here about a comic book, but the author’s dry pungent humor, almost like the Icelandic putrid shark, is refreshing as a glass of ice cold aquavit.
For the culinary curious, those who enjoy minimalistic photos and, most of all, open minded ppl. Yeah!
