Cool stories, underwhelming(?) anthology

I'm not exactly sure how to describe how I feel about this book other than how I titled the review. There were many stories that I thought were doing really cool things and had concepts that were fascinating and timely. It was also really fun to read interpretations(?) of witches originating in cultures that I am less familiar with. But I would be lying if I didn't say that getting through this anthology was a slog.

I don't really know why this was the case. Maybe there were just too many stories or I could just be a little oversaturated by short stories at the moment. I'm not really sure. In any case, I wanted this read to be easier than it was.

I think anybody who wants to read a bunch of stories about witches that include so many different and diverse definitions of what it means to be a witch should go for it. I just found getting through this whole book a little bit tiring.
