My spoileriffic negative review: https://bookwyrm.social/user/skyfaller/review/381179/s/compelling-descriptions-of-problems-ludicrous-solutions

One thread where we discuss the book: https://social.coop/@adamgreenfield/110475004524067281

I must say the first chapter is extremely compelling, and is freely available online: https://www.orbitbooks.net/orbit-excerpts/the-ministry-for-the-future/

I recommend just reading that and skipping the rest of the book, frankly.

@mycorrhiza Strangely enough, while there are interesting characters, I'm not sure they accomplish much, or that they're important to the plot. A lot of the crucial action that changes the world happens off screen, driven by anonymous people; the main characters are somewhat along for the ride.

The main characters don't even get that much screen time, a lot of the text is from the viewpoint of entities such as the fucking blockchain.
