It's Herge's early work, and I was aware Herge's early works wasn't very pleasant experiences. Writings includes anti-communist propaganda, imperialist propaganda, stereotypic racist characters, highly violence especially towards animals e.t.c. I read this because I wanted to how Herge's writing and world view will change in the future. I'm excited to see the Tintin everyone is talking about, and I hope I won't be disappointed.

It's a life story of someone, but it just spoke to me directly and made me happy and anxious. It was hard to see someone who exposed, lonely, depressed and having problems finding a personality. I wasn't expecting to feel that close to this person and have the same feelings. All of us get through things like identity issues, finding a meaning in life, social interactions, depression and being a person in a society surrounded by the norms for centuries. These problems affect all of us and still affecting us. Trying to be a person to have a discrete identity, having a meaning in life and not just living by what others tell and did is just a hard thing to do. Trying to be a person to have a discrete identity, having a meaning in life and not just living by what others tell and did is just a hard thing to do. And we all at some point feel lost in these problems, and I think it's natural because without asking and questioning the things we love, and we want, requires being out of the norm, being alone. Without getting out of the way of living people say to us, we can't find a meaningful way to live as we want, we can't have a discrete, unique identity, we can't have meaning and will to live. I hope all the hard times he had gives us meaningful results. It made me happy to see I'm not alone and gave me hope to live and get through these hard times. I feel like this book become my friend and I will read this book when I feel the same feelings. It's such an honest and brave piece of art.
Review of 'Humour : a very short introduction' on 'Goodreads'
2 stars
This book intends to explain “What is humor?” while trying to prove incongruity is the reason for comic amusement, hence the humor. This is the reason it is not a suitable book for the “A Very Short Introduction” series. The writer jumps really fast to trying to prove why other theories are not true before explaining what theories really are.
At some point Murdock lost everything and "dies" i.e. crucified because of Kingpin but with help of "Holy Mother" he recovers from dead and BORN AGAIN i.e. miracle happens. Miller obviously used Murdock as an allegory to Jesus. Karen's story biased with Miller's worldview. She's bad because she's a porn star, therefore sinful women who need salvation to be "good" again. And she's searching the Murdock because she needs salvation and saved by Murdock, i.e. JESUS. Miller just wasted Karen with making her "sinful women" and used her as a woman who needs to saved by man. And the last two issues aren't compatible with this story, they're so random. Personally, I didn't enjoy this story that so influenced by Catholic religious and biased worldview and depict Murdock as literally Christ Figure.
