An absolute classic masterpiece of cyberpunk with social commentary and themes just as relevant today as when it was written. Marred by its creepy obsession with a 15 year old character.
Really excellent SciFi, described by the author as "diaperpunk" but I'd argue also in the vein of solarpunk. I have some issues with the central premise seemingly involving a forced conflict (where no side sems to entertain a compromise until the end). But it's thoughtful and unique and makes you think in the ways good SciFi does, and therefore still well worth the read.
I really enjoyed everything in this book. It was a wonder to read through and reflect on. I love the simple, straightforward way it talks about things. My only wish is that it was longer, maybe with a wider variety of examples or longer quotes from a wider variety of men.
