I've heard recommendations for this since forever, and I'm finally getting around to it. Its incredible and beautiful and makes a lot of other pieces of culture that have derived from it make more sense. I don't much care for stuff that romanticizes death and pain and such, and i feel like sandman pushes that line a bit sometimes. Its still an incredible work of art and I can't wait to finish the rest of it

Got about half way through, and i think I'm deciding to not finish it. Its definitely a book for a specific person, but its a bit too on the nose and kind of delights in suffering in a way I'm not enjoying. It is gay and trans and there's space stuff tho. I would maybe describe it as a ready player one for trans people
