Not sure how I feel about this.
There are some good ideas here. But, man, the world-building. If you like your books having a lot of mythology hinted at -not explained, mind you!-, this is the book for you.
This could turn into a good series down the lane (we'll see). There are enough different things thrown together to make this unique. But for now: 2/3 of the book consists of characters with agendas that are not making any sense. (Mysterious powerful leaders want to bring on the Apocalypse because of "The Message". Right. Great. Tell me more. No, please. Tell. Me. More.)
Having "anti-heroes" is one thing. Having characters whose reasons for action one does not understand, because none are provided, is another.
