I’m not sure if I’ll finish this one. The occasional racial humor felt off, inauthentic, so I looked up the author - a white guy. While I could imagine a Black author maybe being self-deprecating for a white audience, from a white author this is just painful. We’ll see if I can continue to suspend my disbelief.
