Ika Makimaki reviewed I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi
Review of 'I Will Teach You to Be Rich' on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
I don't usually read a lot of finance or how to get rich books. But I found out about this one online and was curious about it so I gave it a go.
The author definitely sounds a bit too much like a frat boy for my taste. He is cocky, and a little bit annoying in his style, but his ideas are clear organised and the book is an easy (and surprisingly fun) read.
But once you get past the immature jokes and self serving attitude it is, as far as I can see, a reasonable and sound financial strategy for most of us, the financially illiterate.
So that's why it gets 3 stars for me. It is useful and helpful, clear, organized and concise. I don't think I would want to be friends with Ramit Sethi, but I really feel like I learned something that I can use in my personal finances and am thankful I found a book to help me do just that.
