read this because i read bride, and i enjoyed the continuation of the storyline.. but i did not care for the main character’s love interest koen. the whole they’re-wolves-so-they’re-mad-into-smell angle is amusing to me. overall a fun read.

i read a lot of horror and found this one to be a tough read. what strikes me as the most heartbreaking.. is that she wasn't just failed by the system alone, but she was failed from the very beginning by everyone around her who enabled her life on earth to be a living hell. when you read this, you'll realize you are reading the words in a childlike manner.. because she is recounting all the horrors that happened to her from a very young age. as a reader, you are quite literally brought into the book into the very room where these monsters committed their acts. devastatingly, she never stood a chance on this earth and still she had hope right until the very end. may her soul rest now, and justice delivered swiftly.. where are the files? why aren't the powerful people who hurt her held accountable? i …

cozy fall read <3 not sure why i started with book #2, but i enjoyed the world building within. definitely read this if you identify with recently unfrozen-from-stone ladies and falling in love with a dreamboat greenhouse nerd.

i feel like i took my time with this one. medieval horror, with some of the most intricately described ghouls, making this one of my favorite books this year methinks. i love the characters and the stylistic language this book is written in.

this book is incredible! i love how the ghosts were written in this, everything about the ghost month in asian culture that was featured in the story and whenever i read scenes about ghosts eating food i imagined them all to be eating like how no face from spirited away would consume food.
