Alyssa Cole: How to Find a Princess (Paperback, 2021, Avon) 3 stars

A charmant romance that is also an undercover self help book, too lengthy though

I listened to the audio book while crafting and baking and thought it would be somewhere between a romcom and a tad of action movie. It is indeed a cute romance but also a bit of a self help book about a) boundary setting being important, which our protagonist learns b) giving/taking and communication in relationships, especially when one is emotionally scarred While I like this mix, also like the protagonist (which is rare) and the ending, I have to admit that the book is way too long. The couple to be is running in circles so often, just to have some kind of conflict in the story, that it’s just too much. And when you think „okay, it’s really enough now folks“… then there’s another repetition and a couple more of them. The audio book had 11 hours — they should either have added a lot more storyline or just shortened it to less than 4 hours.

As I didn’t expect this book to be anything but fluff I can let the part where royals are not really questioned but rather supported slide.
