Gerald Moore: Things fall apart--Chinua Achebe (1974, Heinemann Educational for the British Broadcasting Corporation and the British Council on behalf of the British Ministry of Overseas Development)

Much has been said about the content and interpretation of the book. What I was surprised by was that there was a lot of moral ambiguity. It was hard for me to feel sympathetic towards the main character, who is afraid of being soft, woman-like or unsuccessful and thus often treats other cruelly. This is contrasted with other people who are well recognized, yet do not show these traits.
