I didn't cry, but Robin Williams's story was heartbreaking despite the immense success he enjoyed. Would he have been a happier person without his wild success, if he had made stuck entirely to stand-up? Maybe, most of his torment seemed to come from his movie career, but the selfish part of me wouldn't want to be without Aladdin, Dead Poets Society, Mrs. Doubtfire, or Good Will Hunting. Growing up, even movies that were described as duds, like Flubber, held a special space for me. It's only as I've grown older that I've dived into his stand-up, and he makes me laugh like no one else. Farewell, this book provided me with closure and a much needed Robin Williams movie marathon.
