This marked the end of a 3,5 year project to reread the Harry Potter books, but for the first time: In French. In part it took so long because I took long breaks between books, and in part because reading in French isn't easy for me. A great reason for practicing foreign languages with Harry Potter, is because it gives such a comparative insight. I.e. though the earlier books are the easiest, they're also the ones I've filled with translations (I translate all the words I don't understand, and write them in with a pencil). The seventh book almost doesn't have any translations in it! Also, I totally got started just because I wanted Olly Moss's beautiful editions, which came out first in French, and then it just made sense to start reading them, as I was already studying French.
