What an incredible read! Written from the perspective of a child experiencing a haunting this books unique voice grabs hold and never lets go…kind of like the evil haunting this family. It moves at such a pace you don’t want to put it down, even though you’re flooded with dread and anxiety. The best supernatural book I’ve ever read.

The world has ended, some have survived, and an unlucky few have been taken into an extreme religious cult. As the “holy” will do, they subjugated, mutilated, and beat women into submitting to their righteous views. Written as a diary, the story is compelling, and heart wrenching at times. Wonderfully written it drips with the pain and emotion of the main character. Her story, and thoughts evolve leading to her destined end. Really enjoyed

With deeply disturbing visuals and gore this book is very over the top. But even with that, the overarching message of the main character being the bad guy came through loud and clear. Low brow, it’s a book about fucking corpses. High brow, it’s a book about dehumanizing women, abusing us, and throwing us away like trash. But in this case, the abuser becomes a very welcomed victim
