Review of 'Carpenter' on 'Goodreads'

An easy book to read, not only because it's just over a hundred pages or so, but also because of the simplicity in the language of which it was written. My company gave us this book so that we could start focusing on what matters in our business. It was a good book, though I have a gripe. If there's a book that is in the self-improvement realm (even if it is written as a fiction story as [b:The Carpenter: A Story About the Greatest Success Strategies of All|22118629|The Carpenter A Story About the Greatest Success Strategies of All|Jon Gordon|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1400279710s/22118629.jpg|41462774] has been written), then it should end with a summary of bulletpoints, phrases that you should repeat, etc. This book just ended with "Hey, go to this website," but just really pointed to other things you could buy.

I'm all for self-help books, but I think this one could have …

Review of 'Fish stick Fridays : a Half Moon Bay mystery' on 'Goodreads'

I spent a couple of weeks wanting to read something, but not finding anything interesting to read. I would find something from one author or another, and was disappointed with each page turn. It was really disheartening to read so much, but not be satisfied.

I'm happy to say that Rhys Ford's book, "Fish Stick Fridays" broke that long string of blah reading weeks, and left me not only completely satisfied, but wanting to read even more from Ford. I have to say that I'm a sucker for bad boys (Reid) and domestic-type situations (Reid + Lang + Zig), so this was especially a treat to read. Conversely, my heart went out to Lang at what he'd gone through in the past. The capacity for love and hate in a human heart is quite unfathomable.

The situation was quite relatable, because we could all find our ways into losing a …

Review of 'Pent Up' on 'Goodreads'

I couldn't figure out what to read for more than a week, which is an eternity for me, so I turned to an author that I'd read in the past and really loved. And while Damon Suede still has a way with words, I have to say that Pent Up didn't have the same feel, the same passion, the same demand for my time that Hot Head did.

That said, what's in the book is pretty good. A good story with enough turns and twists to keep you reading to find out what's next. Yes, things are a bit confusing at times, but they get explained fully later on - so just keep reading.

In all, I enjoyed the book - just not as much as Suede's other offerings.
