Review of 'Little Life' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

it was a veryyy long read for me (2 years, switched to audio for the last two thirds).

The appeal of the book I guess is that it's a very tragic fairy tail where the reader is allowed to fully absorb all the presented suffering and dissolve in it.
I guess that was the reason why I had a hard time reading it. The writing is so good, like really good but it felt a lot of times like a chore because of the many episodes and throw backs of such extreme emotions.

Other than that, I just didn't really like the setting and I didn't (want to ?) relate to the characters and their specific views on careers and class and their ways of relating to each other.

It was a good challenge and exercise for endurance and curiosity. And I do feel kind of accomplished finishing it hahaha

All being said, the Author did such a good job building this specific world and there is something intuitive in the way she presents it to the reader that I really liked.
