War propaganda creeps the crap out of me, particularly the dehumanizing depictions of the enemy variant that Geisel comes up with - a common thing for its time, and seen regularly in satire now - but I can see well indeed why his was effective from this. Now I just need to bleach my brain a bit, have a cuppa, and read some of his more modern material.
