It's probably a good thing I read this so soon after I read The 5th Wave (as in, immediately after); I probably would've forgotten details and not noticed certain aspects.

That said, it's a mixture. It's not as compelling as the first book of the series, but it isn't a bad read; it's still interesting, but I kind of would like to see more from Evan's perspective (as he's the goal of an operation in the novel). I do love getting to follow Ringer through her changes, though.

Still a more refreshing alien-invasion novel than, well, most anything else. And I like the quasi-riddles that are proposed throughout, which is probably why I like Ringer's portions of the novel more than anyone else's.
