It's an enjoyable read, and I quite liked a lot of it. There were some frustrating parts (a few stereotypical things regarding voodoo), but it's overall a decent book that was fairly interesting to read. Since I have a lot of students who kind of love paranormal things, it might be something I'd give them to read outside class.

A little cliché, though. And a few really obvious "plot twists." Anna's murder was pretty obvious from the moment that they started researching it, and the bit with the athame was also pretty easy to spot from miles away. The ghost-hunter falling for the dead girl who sacrifices herself to save him was... more than obvious, too.
