@LouInABook I just saw that you’re reading Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. How are you liking it?

@z@weirder.earth A lot! The story is okay, nothing entirely out of the ordinary. But I like the world building, and especially the way the protagonists interact with each other. It's a story that is, for once, not driven by toxic behavior and the inability to communicate, but instead based on empathy and mutual support. And that's so refreshing, esp. in these current times...

@LouInABook Yes! I was really surprised by that aspect of the story, The next two books are really different in their story structures but they keep that empathetic perspective.

Content warning mild spoiler for the third book
@LouInABook The third book had me in tears, but portrayals of functioning anarchist societies always do that to me.

@z@weirder.earth Thank you! I was thinking if I should continue with the series right away, or read something else first. But seems I will start Book 2 tonight. :D
A friend of mine told me about the series, and her mentioning the character interactions was my motivation to start reading these books in the first place.

@LouInABook book two has some childhood trauma stuff that isn’t quite as light as the first book. It’s nothing too bad but definitely a bit heavier than the first book.

@z@weirder.earth Oh, that's good to know, thank you. Guess this warning/content not helps not being entirely unprepared after reading the first one.
