Way Station is a 1963 science fiction novel by American writer Clifford D. Simak, originally published as Here Gather the Stars in two parts in Galaxy Magazine in June and August 1963. Way Station won the 1964 Hugo Award for Best Novel.
The book was nice and atmospheric, with a timelessness that is inherent in stories of other worldly activity. But to be honest, the ending felt kind of flat. Wished for a more doomer ending or a more emotional ending than I got
Good story, and a page turner too
Absolutely astonishing for a book from this period. It's a little bit of Walden, a little bit of Trek's basic humanity, and a lot of ideas modern Sci-Fi is still working with.
