Wow. Much like a good hike, this book started off great and just kept getting better, all the while taking twists and turns through beautiful country. McDougall weaves a saga of adventure, curiosity, honor, compassion, and joy; all while educating the reader of a long-forgotten part of our heritage. Gripping, even to this not-quite-avid runner. Highly recommended for anyone who runs as well as anyone who doesn't.

Great book. Somehow I was expecting a book with tips and recommendations about running, but it's more a story about long distance running, with some evolutionary history on running.

Reading this book makes want to grab my running shoes. If you like running, or you want to like running, it's the perfect read.
