Edward Snowden brought to light a global system of mass surveillance deployed by the government of the United States without the knowledge or consent of its citizenry. Just stop and ponder over this for a while. It’s crazy.
The Permanent Record is the story of an amazingly smart and brave man. His knowledge and insights on mass surveillance and spy culture in a post 9/11 world are useful, especially, to those who are still oblivious to the extent of the surveillance we tolerate.
