I started out not enjoying this comic. I was familiar with Flex from the Doom Patrol but this felt off. Derivative. Irritating and reminiscent of Morrison's older work. I had to put it down.
I picked it up later though, and finished it off. And then laughed at my own stubborness and delighted in the ending. It's one of those; a piece that makes little sense until you get to the end and then you get to a twist you wouldn't have expected but that also, in the logic of comics, makes perfect sense. I'm glad I picked up this comic and if you enjoy The Invisibles, Final Crisis, or Multiversity, it's likely you're going to enjoy this.
