But incredible literature, depictions of its US setting and mentality and humor. It's perverse, but the real discomfort for me is the strong identification and visibility of misuse of human beings and selfish power in so many relationships.

But as the story progress you can even see that he has lost of sympathy for himself and starts referring to himself as maniac who deprived Dolores of her childhood.
