sotolf reviewed Dark Space: Origin by Jasper T. Scott (Dark Space, #3)
A pulpy but interesting book
4 stars
Jasper T. Scott is one of my comfort authors, I always know that what he writes will be interesting, there will be a good twist in there somewhere, and the characters are going to be quite likeable. So I've been using these books as palate cleansers between trying out new authors or something that I'm not sure how much I will enjoy.
This one is no different, it's well written, the characters are fun, and it has some of the more interesting aliens that I've seen in a while, I do really enjoy the characters as well. The only thing that annoys me a bit about the langauge is the swear word mutations, if the swearing bothers you you can just write around it, or you just leave the fucks and motherfuckers in there, the frek and mortherfrekker just look really annoying to me, and when we all know what …

The books are well plotted out, and are internally consistent, they keep me wanting to read through the whole thing, and I really have enjoyed this whole series, and for the price that I got them (got the whole series for 0,99€) it really was a steal I've paid a lot more for books that I have enjoyed a whole lot less. It's just really nice to have an author that writes this many books, and I know they are always worth reading and that I am going to enjoy them :)
