Rabbits

It's a fun story! I enjoyed watching a player actually play rabbits, but the winding plot and frequent flashbacks had me a bit lost.

If you're a fan, it's worth a read, otherwise it's probably not worth it.

This book didn't stick the landing for me. The beginning was gripping, and interesting, throwing out cool ideas and a deep conspiracy... but the second half devolved into a lot of thriller plotting, i.e. the phone rings when they walk in the door, it's their friend, when they go to leave, they're being followed, as they escape they find a helpful stranger! etc. Throw in a few teleportations and time cuts and not enough character development and here we are. I enjoyed my time with Rabbits and I'll be checking out the podcast.

Way better than Ready Player One (what isn’t?), but still not my fave kind of book. I tore through the second half today, though, and I gotta pour one out for anyone who has me doing that. Kind of glad that the right wing troll conspiracy theorists are probably too dumb for this book, but also worried anyway?

Fun if derivative bit of geeksploitation, something along the lines of a Lovecraftian Ready Player One but made slightly better by a hint of Rosicrucian intrigue.
