Dragon Rider is about a brave young dragon called Firedrake who embarks upon a dangerous journey to the Rim of Heaven in the Himalayas--a magical place where silver dragons can rest easy, free from the threat of destruction by mankind and their only hope of sanctuary. The key to its location is a map rendered by a rat who is a master cartographer.
It is a great book for kids over age 8!
Ganz viel Liebe für dieses Buch ❤️
Old favorite of young childhood I remember reading cover to cover over and over again, as well as individual chapters. Gives me the nostalgia fuzzies.
Wow! It’s so amazing and beautifully written. Cornelia Funke really did a great job on this one.
It also reminded me a lot of httyd — but in a good way. Like a continuation. You know, Httyd place in the Wiking era, about 3000 years ago. This story place in 1997. At the end of Httyd, the dragons had to hide, but came out from time to time, to visit their friends. It’s the same in this book, right? They’re hiding from most humans but do trust some of them. So it’s possible they’re from the same universe, just have a long time skip.
