Depends on what you love to read whether you will love it or like it but it is hard not to like. It meanders a bit in the first half and we are hoping that Kiela will open up to some of the islanders but she manages to keep all her, not well hidden, secrets until it is in a way forced and the person that is pushing her is watching, which was pretty much my only really criticism other than the not clear plot, it is more like a several short stories put together. I would give the second 1/2 a 4 and the first 1/2 a 3 star but still giving it a 3 over all. It has some really fun characters that don't really make a true impact until further into the book.

Sentient plants are really fun and the book is very fun. Quirky characters that are interesting though the primary FMC is the least of those until the end of the book. I am going to try the next as the library has it and would like to see if I like the main character better.
