What an incredible treat this novella is. It's got everything I've come to love from Chambers' brand of sci-fi; the optimism, the character-driven narrative, the beautiful descriptions of both scientific work and imaginative new worlds that intertwine with the characters' states of mind, and more; the attention to technical details and other "hard sci-fi" aspects shocked me as they're not a huge component of the Wayfarers books nor what I look for in them, but they were a pleasant surprise and a demonstration of how Chambers still has a lot to surprise with. My only complaint is I wish it was way longer!

YAY, science! Me faltan estrellas. El hype por esta novelita es bien merecido. Este porno para biólogues rebosa de sentido de la maravilla y de interés humano, a diferencia de aquel porno para ingenieres que fue [b:The Martian|18007564|The Martian|Andy Weir|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1413706054l/18007564.SY75.jpg|21825181], con su protagonista imbécil y su “exploración” sin chicha ni limoná. Eso sí, tanto esa peli como Interstellar me han venido muy bien para fijarme mentalmente el aspecto de la Merian y de sus dos anexos. Afortunadamente, no se han pasado el viaje comiendo papas.
