Eliot Rosewater—drunk, volunteer fireman, and President of the fabulously rich Rosewater Foundation—is about to attempt a noble experiment with human nature . . . with a little help from writer Kilgore Trout. God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater is Kurt Vonnegut’s funniest satire, an etched-in-acid portrayal of the greed, hypocrisy, and follies of the flesh we are all heir to.

Review of 'God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, or Pearls before Swine' on 'Goodreads'

This book was a LOT of fun to read--laugh-out-loud funny! Vonnegut always pokes fun at human nature, and this novel focuses on a family with an obscene amount of inherited wealth, the Rosewater Foundation. Elliot Rosewater is the head of the foundation, and he has a heart of gold--and is considered insane by the rest of his family, and at least very unusual by others. It's a parody of society's attitudes towards money: those who have it, and those who don't. Oh, and a character from Slaughterhouse Five makes a reappearance:)
