Did I enjoy this? Mostly, though I agree with other readers that the (long) section of novel which takes place after the marriage goes on and on seemingly without purpose and was a slog to get through. What amazed while reading was how little has changed in society when it comes to what subjects constitute a bestseller level of interest. Is this 50 Shades of Grey? Is this Twilight? Female virtue as defining quality and religious aspiration. Virtue under attack from the horned goat.
Anyway this was fun to read and provides an interesting perspective on the novel form.
