I would've liked just a bit more from the mystery, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this installment particularly Pen's remark that not all love is romantic and Pen's struggle after the events of the mystery conclude.

The third novella in the Penric and Desdemona series. A few years after the last, this one brings back Shaman Inglis and Locator Oswyl from the previous book. Oswyl is called in to investigate the death of a temple Divine - not only is she dead, but her demon is missing. With the help of Penric and Inglis, they spend the novella trying to find the murderer and also the demon, before it can cause any harm.

Another quick, light fantasy read, making me wish these books were full novel length.
