Yep, I keep coming back to this one - a definite favorite. Solid, inventive, well structured characters make everything else work. Even the completely crazy bits.
Every time I think there's going to be a cliche that annoys, I turn out to have completely underestimated Hayes' writing. Bloody fabulous romp, this one, with lovely set-ups and follow throughs, excellent character building, and laughing until I sneeze hilarity.
It was good! Very similar to the Superpowered series, except more magical and less logical.
Has a slow bit about halfway through but other than that if you like [author:Drew Hayes|7077654] other work, you'll enjoy this.
