Just barely four stars. It's Bosch for the most part, but the ending didn't feel right.

I am a very big fan of Michael Connelly and I enjoyed this book a lot. What I like most is how he does not relent in the direction of happy endings: Harry Bosch is always a dark noir-style character, although in the latter phase some light has crept in to his character.
This cold case mystery is well put-together and satisfies most of my criteria for non-cheesiness; I like the writing, and I had to grip the book in some of the action passages. There was a slight dip toward hardy-boys-style ending material, but I don't think it went too far.
