Increase profitability, elevate work culture, and exceed productivity goals through DevOps practices.

More than ever, the effective management of technology is critical for business competitiveness. For decades, technology leaders have struggled to balance agility, reliability, and security. The consequences of failure have never been greater—whether it's the healthcare.gov debacle, cardholder data breaches, or missing the boat with Big Data in the cloud.

And yet, high performers using DevOps principles, such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Etsy, and Netflix, are routinely and reliably deploying code into production hundreds, or even thousands, of times per day.

Following in the footsteps of The Phoenix Project, The DevOps Handbook shows leaders how to replicate these incredible outcomes, by showing how to integrate Product Management, Development, QA, IT Operations, and Information Security to elevate your company and win in the marketplace.

A worthwhile read, despite my star review...

3 stars

Quite the manager's and organizations perspective on high-level "DevOps" concepts. Some chapters are just repeating of what you have read in previous ones, but that was most likely the intention and I am okay with that.

Generally, an interesting read, but quite generic and not as technical as I would've liked.

Review of 'The Devops Handbook' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

Thorough overview of the principles behind the DevOps movement, which is effectively the application of lean manufacturing principles to the software sector. One issue is that it seems focused on companies providing software services, possibly for internal consumption, rather than software products where many of the same principles apply but the delivery models and feedback loops are different. Exactly the companion to the Unicorn Project I was looking for.
