closer to a 3.5 for me. I didn't think this was terrible but i didn't think it was great either. It's probably a C+ read - nothing that really takes away from it, but it also doesn't really have that je ne sais quoi either. It lacked sparkle for me and I can't really put my finger on why. I did like Jasmine and her cousins, and I liked Ashton's family, but I think I'm not really convinced Ashton really opened up to Jasmine. Or maybe I feel like there was a lot left unexplored/discussed. Like how Ashton felt when he became a single father. After their first encounter, I, as Jasmine, would have had some questions about Ashton's decisions, but it never came up. The chapters from the Carmen characters' points of view were weird and not really necessary. It sounds like I didn't like this, but that's not …
